Stacie Leigh Bumgarner

Holding a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in addition to her science, philosophy, and fine arts degrees from Johns Hopkins and the University of Michigan, Bumgarner is one of our best-educated artists at Jedidiah Gallery. A practicing artist for more than twenty years, Bumgarner applies a laboratory-grade precision to her printmaking. Her work explores themes of process, contemplation, and the wonder of discovery. Continuously informed by her experience as a researcher and professor, Bumgarner’s work is able to oscillate between the lens of student and teacher, showing the multiple perspectives inherent in the journey of learning.
